Oxoacids of Sulphur-Sulphuric acid, Sulphurous acid, Peroxodisulphuric acid, Pyrosulphuric Acid, Thiosulphuric acid, Dithionic acid, Properties, Uses, FAQs

October 3, 2025December 26, 2024 by Neeraj Anand, Param Anand
Oxoacids are oxygen-containing acids. Many oxoacids, such as h2so4, h2so3, and others, are known to be formed by sulphur. When sulphur is coordinated to oxygen, it forms a tetrahedral structure in oxoacids. Sulfur oxoacids are sulphur, oxygen, and hydrogen-containing chemical compounds. Sulfuric acid is the most well-known and widely utilised in industry. Sulfur contains various oxoacids; however, some of these are only recognised through their salts. The acids that have been described have a variety of structural characteristics.

What are Oxoacids of Sulphur ? Oxoacids are oxygen-containing acids. Many oxoacids, such as H2SO4, H2SO3, and others, are known …

Sulphur Dioxide(SO2)-Structure, Preparation, Properties, Uses

October 3, 2025December 26, 2024 by Neeraj Anand, Param Anand
The p-block, which spans groups 13 to 18, is located on the right side of the normal periodic table. Their electrical configuration is ns2 np1–6 in general. Despite being the first element in group 18, helium is not part of the p-block. Except for the first row, each row in the table has six p-elements.

The p-block, which spans groups 13 to 18, is located on the right side of the normal periodic table. Their …

Allotropes of Sulphur-Rhombic sulphur (α-sulphur), Monoclinic sulphur (β-sulphur), Colloidal Sulphur, Physical & Chemical Properties of Sulphur

October 3, 2025December 26, 2024 by Neeraj Anand, Param Anand
Sulphur is the tenth most prevalent element in the universe. It can also be found in the form of sulphide in a variety of meteorites. The existence of a sulphur element in molten, gaseous, and solid states gives the jupiter moon lo its unusual colours. Sulphur is the sixth most prevalent element on earth in terms of mass. Elemental sulphur is most commonly found near volcanic areas and hot springs. In the past, sicily was the principal source of sulphur. Submarine volcanoes also result in the production of molten sulphur lakes, which are mostly found on the seafloor.

Ozone-Preparation, Properties, Uses, Ozone Layer Depletion Effects, FAQs

October 2, 2025December 26, 2024 by Neeraj Anand, Param Anand
Ozone is too reactive to stay in the atmosphere at sea level for long. It is formed from atmospheric oxygen in the presence of sunlight at a height of about 20 kilometres. This ozone layer shields the earth’s surface from an excess of ultraviolet (uv) radiation. It is an unstable, blue, diamagnetic gas with a distinctive pungent odour that shields the earth and its inhabitants from the sun’s intense ultraviolet radiation. Ozone is an allotropic molecular form of oxygen that contains three oxygen atoms (o3). Ozone is produced by passing oxygen through a high voltage potential, which results in the attachment and formation of a third oxygen atom. Soret discovered the molecular formula for ozone (o3) (1863).

What is Ozone ? Ozone is too reactive to stay in the atmosphere at sea level for long. It is …

Dioxygen(O2)-Physical & Chemical Properties, Preparation, Laboratory & Industrial Preparation, Uses, FAQs

September 28, 2025December 26, 2024 by Neeraj Anand, Param Anand
Oxygen is a member of the periodic table’s chalcogen group, a highly reactive nonmetal, and an oxidizing agent that readily forms oxides with most elements and other compounds. Oxygen is the most abundant element on earth, and it is the third-most abundant element in the universe after hydrogen and helium. Diatomic oxygen gas now accounts for 20. 95% of the earth’s atmosphere. Oxygen, in the form of oxides, accounts for nearly half of the earth’s crust.

Group 16 Elements(Oxygen family)-Chalcogens, Isolation, Physical & Chemical Properties

September 7, 2025December 26, 2024 by Neeraj Anand, Param Anand
Chalcogens are the group 16 elements of the modern periodic table consisting of 5 elements oxygen, sulphur, selenium, tellurium and polonium. The elements in this group are also known as chalcogens or ore-forming elements because many elements can be extracted from sulphide or oxide ores. The chalcogens are the elements that belong to group 16 of the modern periodic table (or the oxygen family).

Oxoacids of Phosphorus-Phosphorus acid, Phosphoric acid, Hypophosphoric Acid, Pyrophosphoric Acid, Orthophosphoric Acid, Structures, Properties, Uses, FAQS

December 26, 2024 by Neeraj Anand, Param Anand
Oxoacids are acids that contain oxygen. Phosphorus is one such element that can be used to create a variety of oxoacids. H3po4, h3po3, and other common oxyacids the phosphorus atom is tetrahedrally surrounded by other atoms in phosphorus oxoacids. In general, it is obvious that these acids have at least one p=o bond and one p–oh bond. In addition to p=o and p–oh links, phosphorus oxoacids have p–p or p–h bonds. In these circumstances, the phosphorus oxidation state is less than +5. These acids are known to bounce between higher and lower oxidation states. For example, when heated, phosphorous acid decomposes into phosphoric acid and phosphine.

P Block Elements MCQ Questions – Practice Questions of P Block Elements MCQ Chemistry with Answer & Explanations

October 3, 2025December 27, 2024 by Neeraj Anand, Param Anand
The elements of group 13 to group 18 in the periodic table are collectively called p block elements. They are called p block elements because the last valence electron enters the p atomic orbital. For example, the electron configuration of boron is 1s2 2s2 2p1. The last electron has entered the p subshell. The p block elements consist of boron family, carbon family, nitrogen family, oxygen family, halogen family and the noble gases.
