Hunds Rule of Maximum Multiplicity – Explanation for Atomic Energy Levels and Configuration

December 12, 2024 by Neeraj Anand, Param Anand
Aufbau principle tells us that the lowest energy orbitals get filled by electrons first. After the lower energy orbitals are filled, the electrons move on to higher energy orbitals. The problem with this rule is that it does not tell about the three 2p orbitals and the order that they will be filled in.

Introduction to Hund’s Rule Aufbau principle tells us that the lowest energy orbitals get filled by electrons first. After the …

Atomic And Molecular Mass of Elements | Relative Molecular Weight-Class 11 Chemistry Study Material

December 11, 2024 by Neeraj Anand, Param Anand
Atoms are very small particles and therefore their masses are also extremely small. Nowadays the method of spectroscopy is used for accurately determining the mass of an atom. But in nineteenth-century scientist used the concept of relative atomic mass for finding the mass of an atom. Elemental hydrogen was considered as the standard and its mass was assumed to be 1 (without any units).

Atomic mass Atoms are very small particles and therefore their masses are also extremely small. Nowadays the method of spectroscopy …
